History of Tattooing BY Mee

Tattoo artist at work — in Lancaster, PA
In 1972, my stepfather, Capt. Jack, opened Tattoo Boutique in Butler, New Jersey. In 1973, he moved to Riverdale, New Jersey. Then, in 1974, Capt. Jack and Philadelphia Eddie opened the Tattoo Boutique West in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In 1975, they sold that studio to my father, Peter Eagle, who then moved it across the street and began operating under the name of Tattooing By Peter Eagle until his passing in 2011.

I have been tattooing for more than 25 years. I opened my first tattoo studio next to the Villa Nova West on Columbia Avenue in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1987. In 1989, I moved the studio into the city of Lancaster at 712 Columbia Avenue and have since moved two doors down to 714 Columbia Avenue to expand the facility. Now we have 2,600 square feet of room.
